Peter wuchs in Kanada, New Hampshire und Massachusetts auf und besuchte die Tisch School of the Arts der New York University. Sein Vater war Direktor des Clark Art Museum und seine Mutter war Psychotherapeutin. Er ist vor allem bekannt für Wonder Woman 1984, The Old Guard (Netflix) und Deep State Serie 2.
